Garment Care Instructions

Sustainable Fabric is precious. The Lifeline or your garment is in your hands. Follow the care instructions below for a long life of your apparel.

Cotton Garments

Wash in cold (30°C or below) water, whether using a washing machine or washing by hand. Give garments a gentle stretch when they come out of the wash to get them back into shape. Always air dry: dry clothes flat and out of the sun if possible.

You can wash 100% cotton items in the washing machine, but be mindful of the settings you use. Cotton is susceptible to shrinking if you expose it to too much heat. Use a cool water cycle and a gentle laundry detergent.

Velvet garments

Dry clean only. Do not spot clean. Never iron as ironing is likely to crush or flatten the natural pile. A hand held steamer can be used to remove creasing. Alternatively, hang your fabric or garment in a steamy bathroom as the steam may help relax any creasing. We would recommend that you unpack your fabric upon arrival and store it rolled, rather than folded. Velvet garments are best kept handing. Avoid using clip hangers as these can bruise or mark the fabric.

Laces/Jacquards

Dryclean only. Please note some of these fabrics are delicate so please be careful against rough surfaces and snagging.

If you do insist on washing at home, use a Delicates washing bag for the item.
